Micro Laser Peel

MED Spa of Virginia offers Micro Laser Peel using the Venus-i Erbium laser to improve sun damaged skin, reduce pore size and soften fine wrinkles and superficial scarring.

Safe and effective treatments
Much like Micro-dermabrasian, MED Spa of Virginia uses the most advanced laser technology for superficial skin resurfacing. The benefit of this professional exfoliation procedure is that it can be performed with little or no down time.

How does it work?
Laser light is absorbed by water in the superficial layer of the skin. This results in the removal of the uppermost dead layer of superficial skin.

When will you see results?
Effects are cumulative. After the first treatment you will see improvements in pigment and skin texture within a few days. Other improvements will be more subtle and may take one to three months. Friends may suggest that you look more rested. With each subsequent treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improvement you desire.

How often can you have it done?
A series of three to five treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart, is our standard recommendation. Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for certain individuals or conditions. Periodic occasional maintenance treatments may be prescribed for optimal, lasting results.

What can you expect immediately post-treatment?
Immediately following the procedure you will experience redness and may have slight swelling. This usually dissipates within one to three days. Then, peeling may occur for one to three days. Makeup may be applied to the treated area with physician approval. It is extremely important to apply a SPF30 sun block and avoid sun exposure to reduce any potential side effects.

How long does it take?
This treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. If prescribed, topical anesthetics should be applied 30 minutes before the treatment time.
